Do Electric Mobility Vehicles Need A Driver's License?

According to the "Administrative Measures of the People's Republic of China on Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses":
1. Those who drive civil motor vehicles on the road need to apply for a motor vehicle driver's license, and only if they have a driver's license can they drive the permitted vehicle on the road legally. Therefore, a driver’s license is required for both fuel and electric vehicles;
2. The driver's licenses required for small new energy vehicles, household passenger cars and low-speed cargo new energy vehicles are generally C1 and C2 driver's licenses, while medium and large new energy trucks need to use B driver's licenses. Large-scale new energy buses, such as city buses, need a Class A driver’s license to qualify for driving;
3. Driving a small passenger electric vehicle requires a C1 small car or a C2 driver’s license for a small automatic vehicle. The c2 driver's license can only drive small cars with automatic transmission. The C1 driver's license is allowed to drive small and mini passenger cars, light and mini trucks, light, small, and mini special operation vehicles. The driving license test subjects include four items: traffic laws and related knowledge, field driving, road driving, and common sense of safe and civilized driving.
